1.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account on CodeTikki, we collect your full name, email address, and password (stored as a securely hashed value). You may optionally provide additional profile information including your phone number, profile picture, educational background, work experience, skills, and a resume file (PDF). When you apply for a job or internship through our platform, your application data — including your name, email, phone number, and resume — is shared with the recruiting company as part of the application process.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use our Service, we automatically collect certain information about your usage. This includes your coding submissions (the code you write and submit for problems), quiz answers and scores, IDE sessions, coding battle participation and results, job application history, and interactions with platform features. We also collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, and the pages you visit on our website. This information helps us improve our services, diagnose technical issues, and prevent abuse.

1.3 Resume and Contact Information

When you upload a resume to apply for jobs, we store the file securely in encrypted cloud storage (AWS S3). For non-premium recruiters, we automatically redact contact information (email addresses, phone numbers, and URLs) from resume PDFs to protect your privacy. Premium recruiters with verified company profiles may view your full contact details. You can control who sees your information by managing your job applications and deleting your account at any time.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Provide and maintain the Service: To create and manage your account, display your coding statistics and progress, process your submissions, and deliver the core functionality of our coding platform.
• AI-powered features: To analyze your code submissions, generate match scores for job applications, extract skills from your resume, and provide intelligent code review and feedback using AI models.
• Recruitment services: To share your application data (name, email, phone, resume) with companies you apply to, and to display your coding profile to recruiters as part of the candidate evaluation process.
• Communication: To send you service-related notifications (such as quiz results, job application status updates, and coding battle invitations), important policy updates, and occasional promotional content. You can opt out of promotional emails at any time.
• Analytics and improvement: To analyze usage patterns, identify popular problems and features, measure the effectiveness of our educational content, and improve our platform based on how users interact with it.
• Security and fraud prevention: To detect and prevent cheating in coding assessments, identify abusive behavior, protect against automated bots, and ensure the integrity of our competitive features.
• Legal compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes, and to protect our rights, privacy, safety, and property.

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With recruiting companies: When you apply for a job or internship on CodeTikki, your application data is shared with the recruiting company. Non-premium recruiters see redacted contact information; premium recruiters see full details.
• With educational institutions: If your account is associated with a college or university enterprise plan, your coding performance data, quiz scores, and assessment results may be visible to authorized faculty and administrators at your institution.
• With service providers: We use third-party services to operate our platform, including cloud hosting (AWS), email delivery, and AI processing. These providers have access to your information only as necessary to perform their services and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
• For legal reasons: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or government regulation, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. You will be notified of any such change via email or a prominent notice on our website.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. If you request account deletion, we will deactivate your account immediately and permanently delete all associated personal data — including your profile, submissions, quiz results, job applications, and uploaded files — within 30 days. Certain non-personal data (such as aggregated, anonymized statistics) may be retained for analytical purposes.

• Access: You can view your personal information and coding data by logging into your account and visiting your profile page.
• Update: You can update your profile information, including your name, email, phone number, profile picture, and resume, at any time through your account settings.
• Deletion: You can request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data using the Account Deletion tool below. This action is irreversible.
• Data portability: You can export your coding submission history and quiz results by contacting our support team.
• Opt-out: You can opt out of promotional communications by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or updating your notification preferences in your account settings.
• Withdraw consent: You can withdraw any consent you have given to data processing at any time by deleting your account or contacting support.

7. Cookies and Tracking

CodeTikki uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your browsing experience, authenticate your session, remember your preferences, and analyze platform usage. We use essential cookies (required for login and core functionality) and analytics cookies (to understand how users interact with our platform). We do not use cookies for targeted advertising. CodeTikki is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
